Warmth, traction, and protection from the elements make this boot the ultimate in comfort in the worst winter conditions.

The fit is like a ski boot
The fit is like a ski boot, pushing you forward, uncomfortable to walk in. The claim of warmth up to 35 below is untrue, I live in Maine, I am a mail carrier and in the cold for hours (4-6) daily. Recently we had an attic cold that lasted two weeks, temps as cold as 25 below to 15 above freezing. These boots did not keep my feet warm, added socks didn’t help, my toes were actually turning blue and blistering. I will never buy a Columbia boot again.

Grippy, warm, and comfy!
Update 1/2021: These boots continue to amaze. During my trip to Alaska, they provided amazing traction on slippery ice and kept my feet toasty warm. They also prevented a twisted ankle when sneaky uneven ground was concealed by fluffy snow. The boots made me confident enough that I walked around a ton, and they’re very comfortable. The puffy tongue and high laces made sure that, when I unexpectedly found myself knee-deep in snow, none got inside.——-I love these boots. I'm a native Californian, so when my job sent me to Wisconsin in February, I thought I was going to die.Enter these boots.Despite eight inches of snow, I am still the proud owner of two feet, ten toes, and zero broken bones. The boots were grippy enough to keep me upright, and surprisingly lightweight. I also had a blast clomping through the drifts, because they are delightfully stompy, and kept my feet completely dry. They are very rigid on the back spine, which I presume is to help with not falling...? (I don't know these things, I don't live in an arctic tundra). So if you're looking to be able to point your toes, these are not your shoes. I, however, had zero interest in performing snow ballet, so they worked out perfectly.

Runs small
I've ordered a 9.5 size for a few years-I usually wear a 9, but have had toe surgery and have continued sensitivity in one foot--so I ordered a 9.5 and it was too small. I ordered a size 10 as well--and that fit much better even with my heavier thicker wool socks. I would recommend ordering up half a size for anyone. Boot overall was really nice-lightweight-not overly bulky looking. I don't know yet how the boot is in cold weather yet...just got it, haven't been able to try it out yet.

Not Recommended
Too heavy, bulky and uncomfortable. Went on quite a few long hikes this winter, and my toes were constantly freezing and I was getting blisters each time. They should work fine for short walks/shoveling the snow from your driveway, but they're absolutely the most uncomfortable boots when it comes to hiking. Will have to buy different boots next winter.

Great Boots
These really are great in rain, mud and snow, good traction so far. They are stiff to walk in and kneel down in, my feet do feel a bit cold even with socks on. I'm just glad I don't have to wear them every day, I love going bear footed most of all. If you want good boots that keep out water, mud and snow these are it.

Should be definitely good for mountain hiking
They look and feel qualitative. But the leg and the foot sit in them as in the skating boot, very rigid, not flexible at all. Should be definitely good for mountain hiking, but I bought them for casual use. Hope, I'll get used to them

Too Small
It was my fault to order something which does not offer free returns without making sure it will fit. But, the sizing is off, it is too small, and you will end up paying 39 euro for sending it back because of course you have purchased it from Amazon and so the local Columbia shops will not help you with getting a size up due to inventory reasons. 2 stars because it is a Columbia, so it is of course of high quality. Without free returns it isn't worth the hassle, this time, don't buy the shoes, move on.

Worst buy ever
Few things went wrong with these boots.First of all,the boots i received are with 200g insulation and not 400g as the description provided in Amazon.I had not enough time to return them and get new ones so i was stuck with them.I brought them with me in Lapland and I regret it.They are so stiff and uncomfortable that gave me black bruises on the calves and ankles.Every step i make is painful despite the size is correct (a ordered one size bigger). As far as performace is concered, the temperature is -16C and i am marginally ok with toes starting to get cold after an hour or so.(They are rated for performance -32C according to the manufacturer). I really hate them for being unusually unconfortable

Me preocupa.
