So far, not so good. I purchased this set to replace my "stock" pump and filter on my Intex above-ground pool. While assembling, I was inserting the connector into the "pump" port on the backwash valve. I was tightening the adapter and before 50% of the threads were into the port, the upper wall of the port split! I have to buy a new backwash valve. This one is trash! Also, the ports seem reversed; They are intuitively wrong. Update: I wrote a poor review a few days ago, giving this system a "1." it was purely because the backwash valve broke as I was installing the fitting to attach the hose from the pump to the filter. I ended up throwing away the hose and hard-plumbing the whole thing. Aside from the poor quality of the backwash valve, I can safely say that this has been an excellent pump/filter combo. for my above-ground pool. It has approximately doubled my circulation and tripled my filtration area. I have not received my new backwash valve yet, but I've "patched" the broken one. It leaks a little, but not enough for me to have to shut the system down. I've seen enough of improvement in the water clarity and cleanliness to be able to say that this is a great solution for my pool. I have re-rated the pump/filter combo to a "5."

This is a great, inexpensive sand filter pump. A good alternative to the pipsqueak sand filter pump that came with my pool. It boasts a 1.5HP pump which gives awesome flow. It was fairly straightforward to install, but beware of leaks. The manual says to use a couple layers of teflon tape. I suggest 8-10 layers, no joke. The flex pipe from the pump to the multiport valve is somewhat difficult to install as it must be aligned perfectly. I suggest two people to put this together and install. Other than that, I have had zero issues. Flow is great. Seems to be just as good as Hayward or Pentair without paying crazy prices.

Don’t buy it. It’s junk. Ran for three months and got winterized. Got it ready last week to start up and the pump won’t work. I’m a licensed plumber and took no short cuts on the set up and winterization. Messaged the seller and they basically told me to kick rocks. If you want to have to buy a new pump next summer. Buy it. If you don’t wanna waste your money then don’t buy it. Definitely not from this seller.

So far, it works great, but I installed it today and it's only been 3-4hrs....lol The layout of the ports is wonky, to say the least. I had to place it so the pump inlet was facing the direction of the two return inlets on our Coleman 22ft round. With that layout, the return port cannot face the direction of the return water on the pool. Our Armstrong pump was much better designed in this regard. But @ 4500gph, you can bet I'll find a way to make it work. I'll certainly hard pipe it later, but because of the wonky layout, it's going to have more turns than I would like. Of course, I'll use the sloping 90° elbows so each turn is gradual enough to not affect performance too much. The other significant drawback is the lack of a power switch and/or timer. Like another reviewer, I'll be adding a switch for the dedicated outlet I recently installed for this pump. Perhaps even a fancy timer switch (never seen one, but surely it's a thing). All-in-all, it's exactly what I wanted in terms of high flow and vacuum to waste capability. A huge improvement over the wimpy cartridge pump that come with these pools.

This was the best purchase I made for my above ground pool. I have a 24 ft round 56 in deep pool. The 1.5 hp motor moves my pool water excellent.It was very easy to assemble. The 19 in sand filter does it's job very well. It did not leak at all. Very quiet if it didn't move the water like it does I wouldn't even k ow it was running. My only complaint is it does not have a power switch. My husband connected it to a light switch so that problem was solved easy.
