Flakes like chilli but nowhere as strong. It has a unique warm taste and it tastes amazing. I experimented for the first time with a red lentils soup, with a bit of onion, garlic, potato, carrot and laurel leaves which I fried in extra virgin olive oil. I added water and the rinced red lentils, with powdered cumin, coriander and of course aleppo pepper After 25 minutes, it was cooked and I mixed the soup. But the most delicious which really enhances the flavour of the soup, was to add some more aleppo pepper in hot olive oil and add the mixture to the top of the soup. I really love this aleppo chilli flakes pepper. I look forward to experimenting with it. Next will be fried eggs with aleppo pepper. It is also delicious when you add it to fried garlic, and then add black nero kale to fry and when done, adding cooked spaghetti. I am very happy with my purchase, delicious and comes in a big jar. I bought it twice as I cook a lot with it. The flavour and smell of aleppo pepper is wonderful. I wish I had discovered this spice beforehand.

I’ve bought these before and enjoyed the mild chilli flavour but this time the tiniest pinch blows my head off. I honestly am confused now as to how hot Aleppo chillies should be! Can’t tolerate these at all !

Very pleased to have found this brand. Perhaps a little more expensive than other brands, but having tried most of the others, I can say that these have an authentic flavour (from my memories of travels in Turkey, though originally Aleppo pepper, or pul biber, is from Syria) and they do give a unique flavour to all sorts of dishes from around the Middle East. Great as a marinade with garlic, cumin and olive oil for grilled chicken.

Since receiving the Cerez Pazari Aleppo Pepper, I’ve put it on everything! I love the mild spice and flavor it adds to just about anything. Some reviews mentioned an opened security seal, in my experience the entire container was sealed in clear plastic, so it doesn’t make any difference at all if the inner seal is not secured to the container. The inner seal did come off when removing the lid before the first use. The contents are fresh and not affected by this at all. I would highly recommend this spice, it adds a fantastic mild heat that lingers in a good way.
