Great little closer. Plus easy to screw in place.
I had my doubts when I saw it. I needed to automatically close a door into my laundry room from the outside. Since we live in the woods I have found critters in there because the door doesn’t close after using. This small closer did the job on an old steel door. Won’t find a snake in the laundry room again!

Easy to install spring!
This was perfect for keeping my bedroom door shut. We moved into a new apartment that made my bedroom visible from the front door of the apartment with visibility into building hallway! This handy spring made sure the door automatically closes. The door slam is a bit fast, strong, and loud. We haven’t found a catch mechanism to slow down the swing of the door. All in all- it is Serving its purpose well!

Actually works, with one flaw
Inexpensive. Solidly built. Easy to install. Works well. But with one flaw - the strike plate (or slider plate or whatever you want to call it) is way too short. No matter where you put it the little roller thingy is going to rub against your door for a couple of inches. See door open and door closed images. Otherwise a pretty good value.

Amazed me!
This works great! A must for people with kids who leave doors open and does not affect how the door opens, but it gently closes even my heavy patio door silently. Will save me hundreds on my HVAC bill! Took 5 minutes to install.

Easy to use and easy to install. Works flawlessly
This is so perfect! My kids are always leaving their bathroom door open which causes problems for various reasons with toddlers and dogs alike. You can imagine my dismay when I am elbows deep in fixing dinner only to hear my toddlers playing in the toilet or running the bath. Both hazardous and dangerous I had to find a way to stop it. There are two settings on the device and the “softer” one did not fully latch my door. It is quiet and not strong enough to seriously harm a toddler should he get his hands stuck in the way but definitely strong enough to latch the door. Setting it up took seconds. I’m so pleased with this purchase!

Solved my problem with a door that the kids would always leave ajar.
Installing this took about 5 minutes. It closes a door without so much force that it's hard to open. The closing force is adjustable, so as it wears I can increase the closing force to compensate. On a really heavy door, you might need two to compensate for the weight. It works well on an interior room door.

Effective
Works great - totally quiet and not too high tension that would make it a pain to have on the door - very effective to help us keep the dog in the house

Cheap screws, door closing tension is not adjustable enough, instructions are terrible
The unit is listed as adjustable but really there are only 3 options, small, medium, and large tension, based on which hole you put the rod with the roller in. The other rod is to hold the spring while you put the roller rod in the hole you want. The lightest tension is not really strong enough to close the door and the medium tension is too strong for our pet to push the door open. We did not bother with the highest tension. So, we have added a wedge on the back of the door to make the light tension a little stronger. This might work, will update if the functionality works out for us or not. The screws that come with it are small and cheap - the second one we installed broke off. We had to use a different location on the door frame because the screw head had sheared off in the door frame. We decided to use some drywall screws to finish installation. We knew that we had to predrill the door frame as it is concrete board and we did that before using the screws. So there are some extra holes in the door frame now that we have to patch up because we had pre drilled holes then had a screw head shear off. That screw is embedded in the door frame and we have to fill in the other 3 holes. The build is OK, the paint was a little scratched and I have to just hope it will not rust as it can get wet if it rains sideways with a good wind. which does happen here. The metal plate that you use the 2-sided tape to protect the door finish is too small. The wheels will run off one side or the other depending on where you put it. So as far as value, ten bucks is not bad, but BYO screws and be prepared to put up with tension that is probably either too weak or too strong. The instructions are pretty bad. It is a 3 inch by 2 inch tiny piece of paper with Chinese on one side and a poor translation to English on the other. Step 2 is " According to the size of the closed door, with the strength of the adjustment rod, adjust the size of the closed door, left and right movement can adjust the size of the closed door, after the adjustment, can remove the strength pull rod." Step 3 is, "Remove the pulley lever when the off function is not used." This is just poor documentation. I think this means, remove the Strength adjustment rod after you put the Slider adjustment rod in. One of the last instructions is, "This product is not left or so." I could not even guess what that is supposed to mean. So I used my cell phone translator, and it gave me, "This product does not distinguish between left and right," which makes some sense since you mount it so the spring tension increases as the door opens. But it's not really helpful in terms of understanding that your first guess as to which end goes up needs to be checked against the spring direction. Please have someone who is fluent in English review this translation. For the record, this unit will not allow you adjust the size of your door. Luckily, it's not that complicated to install and adjust for someone with a minimum of experience with tools and equipment. It's just a little on the cheap side as far as the details and not as adjustable as one might hope for. To make this product better there should be more than 4 holes to put the rod in so it can actually be adjustable, it should come with better screws, a longer cover plate, and it needs to have a set of instructions in actual English.
