Easier, cleaner, more time
I have never in my 30 years of owning a Kenwood Mixer purchased this or any other additional attachments beside a meat attachment. I got this as part of the promotion Kenwood were running where you buy a kenwood before December and select free attachment. I can say this item is better than the moulinex and nut grinders which I have and are now in storage. I have many handheld alternates which I am so glad I can retire them until the next 30 years (dont want to jinx my Kenwood) Wouldn't buy if I had to pay for them because I already have handheld alternatives. Pros: easier, faster, easier to clean, more time to do other things. Used for onions, carrots, cheese and nuts. Cons: expensive if your buying more than 1 attachment. You can easily spend over £200 If your buying the attachments. Top tip: check the promotions on Kenwood UK Website. See what periods they run good promotions usually round end of year. Check on Amazon too it might allow you to select the promotional item instead of waiting for Kenwood to approve and send within 28 days. Update - 02/02/2017 (broker on first use) The number 2 disk doesn't click in and stays open which causes carrots to fly out from the back however the number 6 disk didnt have any issues. Ive had to arrange a replacement through amazon. Not a good start to be honest.

Fantastic item, saves you hours and hours of hard ...
Fantastic item, saves you hours and hours of hard labour, although these graters are repeated with different fittings from your processor, the only different ones are the chip slicer's and you get a wider slicer for your vegetables which you already have a slicer on the reverse of one supplied with the processor, this works a lot quicker and by putting a big bowl under you can soon fill it, if you want it for making chutney you still need another attachment the dicer, which I feel is a bit of Cheat another £78.00, so I bought a used Dicing kit for my magi mix instead. I have used it a few times already and I do recommend it, but be aware you need storage space it is a large piece of kit. Also has 7 graters. I found mine for a good price in Amazon Warehouse deals so I am very happy with my purchase.

Excellent attachment
This is easy to take apart for cleaning if you follow the instructions. The only problem is the plastic pusher on the top. It is so easy to forget this part and drop it! Shredding carrots and juliennes work well. It is perfect for grating cheese. I am glad I bought it.

Way more fun than it should be.
Did we need this umpteenth add-on for our Kenwood Major? Probably not. Did it take us forever to actually take it out and use it? Embarrassingly so. Is it awesome at what it does? Oh yes. This tall, jaunty protuberance sits on the back end of your stand mixer. Shove a big bowl under the wide nozzle, select whatever carbon-based organisms you intend to obliterate, fit your blade, and off you go. Other reviewers had mentioned that this was fun, but there's something really childishly satisfying about shoving hard veg into the roomy feed hopper and watching the shreds/slices/chips fly out the other end. It's like a wood chipper in miniature, with all the destructive glory but a smaller footprint. It normally takes me about 40min to shred enough roots (sweet potatoes & onions) for a big batch of latkes but this little monster did the job in less than 3 minutes. I would normally have to do this in several batches in the food processor attachment so that I could empty out the bowl in between, but with this the only limit is the size of my bowl, and no need to stop. It's going to make jobs like coleslaw (and home-made sauerkraut) so much more efficient. As all the parts aside from the motor (the pale grey 'Z' shaped bit at the base) go in the dishwasher, cleanup is a breeze. I do wish the blades were interchangeable with the food processor attachment but, alas, they're not, which means more 'kitchen clutter' to store away.

Fantastic addition to Kenwood Titanium XL
LOVE this tool. Makes preparing food so much simpler and if, like me, you struggle with painful hands, this is a godsend. I relied on my tefal mince’n’sheed but invested in a Kenwood titanium XL as a on upgrade to my kenwood and decided to get extra tools to cut down the number of additional machines in my kitchen. This is just brilliant, does the job superbly!

Buy this if you're cooking for 10+ people and don't care how the food looks
This is my most expensive and least used attachment. It has many parts and is a real chore to clean. And it's not like it replaces your knife and board: you still have to clean, trim, portion, and possibly slice the vegetables lengthwise before you put them in here, so you might as well just finish them the way you started, unless you're really terrified of knives. (Even though these sharp multi-edged disks will cut you much sooner than a knife.) I really bought this for making large amounts of KFC style coleslaw, which is quite hard on my wrists when done with a knife. I was very disappointed with the results. As I said before, if you want a small dice, you need to do 70% of the work with a knife beforehand, including lengthwise slicing. Then, press your cleanly cut veg into the machine, and watch it transform into casually shredded ugly bits as you struggle to push everything through the vegetable end-pieces from a minute before that are now clogging the machine. But let's say you don't want a dice, thin strips are fine. Carrots will come out great, then you go on with some onions and look as they turn into a pulp with some juice dripping out. As it turns out, grating isn't a grate way (sorry) to cut onions. So now fish that pulp out of your carrots if you can and restart with a coarser plate. Somewhat better, but now it's a completely different size. Continue tweaking until you're satisfied with your ugly, randomly shredded salad, while coming to terms with the learning curve required for this machine to make your life "easier". And to think you could've spent all this time learning to use your trusty chef's knife, which takes about 5 seconds to wipe clean and actually makes clean cuts on your veggies! Speaking of learning curve, assembly isn't particularly easy: I used this a total of 3 times before I gave up, and the manual made its appearance every time. I'm not saying this is a badly made machine, although Kenwood could do better. I'm saying it creates more problems than it solves, and would be practical for only a few people. I can see the use if you're making ratatouille for 20 people, a sliced carrot side dish for an entire platoon, 2kg of zucchini chips for every party you attend, or host weekly cook-outs for the whole neighborhood. Otherwise, save the money and learn some basic knife skills, they will take you a long, long way.

A serious piece of equipment most suited for cooking bigger quantities.
This is a serious piece of catering equipment and not really suitable for just grating the cheese for an omelette or a small quantity of anything. What it does brilliantly, and I cannot stress enough how brilliant it is, is slice, grate etc etc large quantities of food effortlessly. I always keep sliced onions or grated cheese in the freezer for instant use. Anything that I may use in quantity is frozen after using this attachment. It is easy to assemble after the first time. I found it stiff to start with. Anything made by Kenwood is a quality item. My actual mixer that I bought this attachment for is thirty years old and still working brilliantly. I marked down on ease of cleaning because it's an assembly and disassembly job and not done in five seconds.
