Lepicol is a three-in-one combination of gentle psyllium husk fibre supplement, live bacterial cultures and inulin. The main fibre source within Lepicol products is Psyllium husk (ago ovata). Psyllium husks are a great fibre supplement as it is able to normalize stool size by being water retentive and, at the same time, forms a soft gel which eases the stool along the lower digestive tract ready for evacuation. Psyllium husks have the advantage of being much gentler than some common fibre supplements (such as wheat or bran), many of which could irritate a sensitive bowel. Inulin is a fibre that is sourced from chicory root. Inulin is not broken down by the body - it is fermented by live bacteria in the gut to support the growth of live bacteria.
