723

I was looking or a bedside table fan to create white noise and keep us cool in the summer months. Somewhere along the research process I forgot to look at physical size and focused on CFM and thus found this fan which I felt was the best bang for the buck listed... Well, I should have paid closer attention as it's a little large to fit on my large nightstand (which is really a small rectangular table) as the fan shroud is over 15" across, and the base alone needs 15"x16". So it lives in my office where it serves two purposes - cooling & white noise. On the lowest setting is very quite while still moving 351 cfm (per vortex). For comparison, several hand held, entry level leaf blowers run at 350cfm Medium changes the game significantly - I wasn't able to find any published cfm for this setting, but would guess it is somewhere close to the middle between the low (351) and high (583) setting (467 cfm?) This is the setting I usually use as it generates a good amount of white noise on medium without turning my office into a tornado. It is enough white noise to drown out my family on the other side of my office's french doors while also moving a significant amount of air which helps keep my area cool (several computers/monitors and other electric devices constantly running in a closed space). Without a fan, it can get over 100 F in there. With a fan I'm usually > 10 F hotter then the rest of the house (I aim the fan at the underside of one of the two french doors to help exchange air as I have a exit vent from the HVAC system, but don't have a dedicated return vent in my office to help circulate the air). High moves 583 cfm which is too much air movement in that space. However, I could see using that setting if my A/C failed or if I needed to work in the attic and wanted to force house interior air up into the attic. The design allows the fan head to pivot around 45 degrees downward to 90 degrees straight up, and on High when pushing 583cfm, it would definitely blow enough air up from the floor through the attic ladder access opening to make working up there bearable. I love the Vornado fans, and have purchased at least 10 in the last decade. Out of those - two tower fans were broken out of the box (fan loose inside tower due to rough handling - shipping issue) and I believe it was three other smaller units actually failed before the warranty was expired (wouldn't spin on low setting). Vornado customer service is fantastic, a quick phone call, provide the the requested proof, and my replacement fan was shipped the same day. This is why I continue to purchase their fans! Be sure to register your fan when you receive it so you can be sure to get the full warranty time - Otherwise they may have to go by the sticker on the fan for date of mfg vs purchase date. I guess the days of having a fan last 10+ years are gone but I do hope this one is the exception...

I live in the back bedroom of a fairly large house. The front of the house has excellent air conditioning, but the back where I live does not. To keep bills down, 100% of cooling, and almost all heating for my bedroom is accomplished by constantly circulating house air into my room using a floor fan which runs day and night. Never shutting the fan off places high demands on it. We just went through a very hot summer, last two days were mega hot scorchers, but my room has easily stayed cool using the Vornado 723. I've used the 723 exactly one month, and it's an understatement to say I'm fully satisfied. I'm really proud of my new fan. I worried for months which fan to get, because I knew my old ones were wearing out. I strongly debated whether I should get the Vornado 293, because it's rated by Vornado to blow 685 CFM on high speed, vs 583 CFM for the 723. But the 723 is significantly less expensive. I decided for my purposes, since I'm not in a work environment, and the 293 was going to cost me 32.5% more than the 723, I didn't think the extra price was worth gaining another 100 CFM. If the 293 had a 10 year warranty I would have bought it, but both the 723 & 293 Vornado fans have an identical 5 year warranty. Re noise level, I've found the 723 to be very easy on the ears, even on high (I run it mostly on high during the hot summer). Months ago I bought one of those squirrel cage fans, which are typically used to dry up wet floors. That did move a lot of air, but the noise was so harsh on my ears it went right back to the store. This Vornado 723 has been a real pleasure to use, with the excellent and extremely adequate air movement for my bedroom, combined with a relatively low noise level. I also like that it looks pretty nice. Better than that, it doesn't fall over easily like my previous floor fans. The stand which supports the 723 is very sturdy. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this fan. It's an important tool for keeping me cool!

Outstanding fan. I wanted to wait until the weather got warmer. I live on the third floor—excellent for winter, tough in summer. So, for the last four years, I've tried to upgrade my fans. I've been successful, but the finalized deal was this fan. Wow! Talk about air movement—this fan has it. The fan itself is really perfect. The base, being a bar, makes it easy to place anywhere and it's not very heavy, making it easy to move around. The fan moves air so well that, with the right angle, you feel it throughout the whole room. Perfect for moving AC cool air. Nice on the pocket. The on/off switch might be hard to reach, but with smart plug technology, you're good to go. But just know, smart plugs won't work with push buttons, only knobs. So it's a big A++ for this Vornado fan for its easy placement, perfect size for a big room, very easy cleaning, and it will definitely help keep down my electric bill. P.S. The fan is a little noisy, but if you have to move air, you gotta make some noise.

In the past, I have used other makes and models of fans and have never really been satisfied, but then I bought a Vornado. They are a true game changer! I bought this one in May 2019 and have been using it ever since. I love the quality and the no-hassle 5 Year guarantee. A guarantee is merely a reflection of the confidence a manufacturer has in its products, so this should tell you a lot about the company. I use this every night to help me sleep. It moves the air beautifully and makes just enough white noise on the middle setting to help me fall asleep. It makes a little more noise on the highest setting but I have never used it at that level. I don't need to. This guy has lots of power to spare. On the lowest setting, I barely know that it's on. I also love the fact that it is so easy to disassemble for cleaning. This thing was designed for maximum user effectiveness and friendliness. When a product does exactly what the manufacturer claims it will do, you need to get the word out to others. I won't use any other brand of circulator. I also have a 660 Large that is equally awesome and will be buying their heavy duty model for the garage shortly. You just can't beat the quality, user-friendliness and warranty.

Did quite a bit of research before buying a large fan. I have a few other Vornados (White Digital speed control Energy Saving model and The 460 model. Both have pros and cons. Most importantly they do blow a large amount of air.. I'd say more than most other fans. The 460 model after a couple years is making a clicking noise when on that is driving me nuts. Also on the highest setting it is LOUD for such a small fan.. Great wind output but LOUD. The other white digital speed control model is twice it's size and works well for the most part. After 1 year the plastic where it rotates up and down broke so hard to turn now. Just a bit of background on those. This 723 model is the largest by far. But i knew that. It does blow an excellent amount of air and circulation. Not disappointed. But every other feature on the fan almost bothers me. The 3 control on back of the fan. The first setting is the highest.. which is annoying to start out with the highest setting and having t click all the way to the light setting which is what most people will have it on. To tilt the fan up/down you have to hold down the base on the bottle while using your other arm to tilt fan up or down. Moderately inconvenient. Usually vorando fans have a lovely smooth white noise to help sleeping. There is a minor not necessarily rattle but ruffling sound which I can't stop hearing now. I am only deducting 1 star because it does what it's supposed to do.. circulate the air very well and quickly. I have it next to an air vent and it will cool the room in minutes.

Vornado is the Cadillac of fans....great product!

I'll start by saying that I'm a repeat-buyer of Vornado fans, and I think they're worth the extra money. With one exception, all of my Vornado fans have been of high quality, and produce at least as much air as any other fan that produces the same amount of noise. (My benchmark, since I hate loud fans.) The fan has three settings. The lowest setting is good for very quiet, but fairly good, air. Most fans' lowest setting is unuseable, but I did find use for the lowest setting with this fan. However, you are probably looking at this fan in order to produce a large quantity of air, so the medium and high settings are what you'll use the most. High speed does produce a bit of noise, but in my opinion it's quiter than any other fan I've tested that produces as much air as it does. The main benefit to the high speed setting is that it outputs a tremendous quantity of air in a very tight column. It is amazing how you can direct the air to a specific spot. In my case this is what I wanted -- the ability to target an exact point at which to shoot the air. The fan feels solid, and seems to be built to last a long time. That would be consistent with my other Vornado purchases, which have all lasted several years with no problems. I was initially worried about the look of the bent tube "leg" (stand), but in person it looks fine, and you don't really notice it like you do against the white background in the photo.

I've only had this fan for a couple of days but so far it has been a life saver! It keeps the room nice a cool continually! It has gotten up to 80-90 degrees here and it feels my like 75. There have been times when I've gotten goose bumps! I have not use this fan with my AC as recommend by the product as of yet but maybe when it gets extremely hot. Pros: small yet strong enough to keep it super cool Easy to take off lid to clean fan blades - love this figure I've never seen it on any fans before! Definitely will prolong the life of the fan. Cool design creates great circulation of air doesn't look cheap very durable 3 different speed settings - max speed is pretty loud some may not like this but for me it's been very helpful I've actually use this setting to block loud noises from outside! Med speed is the one I use most often. It's perfect for laying down and watching TV it's still loud but it doesn't bother me at all. The lowest speed setting I haven't used it since the first day I got the fan. It's too low to keep it nice & cool. Con: I don't have any complaints yet hopefully I won't, but one thing I've noticed is that when you have it on med speed and you're moving around it doesn't feel as cool so this fan works best when your relaxing sitting or laying down.

I use this to circulate air upstairs, my house has really bad stratification due to the AC vents being mounted low on the wall. For that task it works amazingly to get cold air off the ground and distributed evenly. This thing is overbuilt, and on low speed can feel it from almost 30 feet away. Along the walls you can actually feel air gently moving around. The motor they use isn’t a tiny little 45 record player motor you get in cheaper fans, it’s a proper PSC motor that’s the size of a soda can (apparently it’s a standard size that can be replaced if it ever fails years from now). The heavier duty components, and the fact the 623, and 723 are still made in the USA is what you are paying extra for. Mine also arrived perfectly in balance, no vibration to speak of when it’s running. If silence is what you are looking for, you might want to spend a little more and get the DC version, I wished the low speed was a little slower. It’s not silent but it’s a nice “whoosh” sound with a low hum from the blades, medium and high are a bit loud. Would work really nice for those that like white noise for sleeping. I’m also hypersensitive, so the fact that this fan makes no motor noise, and a pleasant sound is nice. Would highly recommend for someone that needs a heavy duty fan that has to run constantly, I can see this lasting for many years.

Worth the cost. The airflow is great, plus the sound is pretty low on the weakest setting. I mean, it is never quiet, but I had small fans that were significantly smaller and louder. I was planning to just to went my den, but I actually found myself having it on

We've been using Seabreeze TurboAire fans for years, but now they don't exist any more. So I bought the Vornado 723 to replace one of those. It blows a LOT of air on full speed with very modest noise (quieter at slower speeds, of course). Solid stand with good easy adjustability. Close inspection indicates very well designed and built, will last a long time.

I have an $800 Dyson Pure Cool HEPA Air Purifier which I really like but when we talk about a hot day and you want to air blasted for $180, the Vornado 723 kicks its butt hands down. Sure. I don't have air purifying and air quality stats but I love the fact that it doesn't have to rotate, no maintenance, and in my 20x40 ft room you can feel the breeze at the highest setting. The only con is that at the highest setting it is a bit noisy. But no noisier than air conditioner. If I had to choose between the two, I would give up the Dyson over the Vornado.
