Awesome Results
This was the first time I used this product and it did perform as to what I was looking for. First off ~ I would NOT apply this in the shower unless as it is very "liquidy" in my opinion it would be a mess. I applied it the same way I do at home when coloring my hair. I use a dollar store plastic table cloth for my floor, just in case any color gets away from me. I place my bathroom chair on the middle of plastic table cloth & cover the chair (seat & back) with two black towels (one on the seat the other fully opened to hang over and down the back of the chair). I have a old t-shirt & black leggings that I've up-cycled as my hair coloring outfit, don't have to worry about any stains, and I wear this outfit every time I do my hair. I have another plastic table cloth I've cut pieces to fit my bathroom counter and use that to cover up the counter area I'm working from. Next I section my hair out using black clips then I use almond oil around the frame of my face, ears and neck, to protect my skin from staining should the gloss/color find it's way to a place other than my hair! Color can run a bit if it's hot and you sweat (I run a fan in the bathroom when I'm coloring) this gloss definitely can run, it is liquidy and thinner than regular color. Next I mixed the hair gloss ingredients together and don't forget to shake well before applying gloss (or color if you are coloring). Here's the secret, be patient, give yourself plenty of time and go slow when applying. It's like giving yourself mental hygiene time and a spa experience all in one - put on your favorite music and enjoy the experience! After glossing each section of your hair roll your hair on top of your head and saturate your HAIR with the gloss (or color) and then cover your HAIR with a plastic hair cap (or grocery store bag, yep up-cycle those too!) like you would using a shower cap - never cover your face, you need to breathe, right. Now your processing. You can add a little heat to the processing by using your blow dryer on the outside of the hair cap moving it around continuously to heat your entire hair, opening the cuticles in the shaft of your hair for the gloss (or color) to penetrate a little deeper. Keep it moving so you do not burn your hair or scalp and for a few minutes. TIPS - I keep extra paper towels handy before I put product in my hair, just in case, you are already prepared to clean up any spills ... SUPER TIP ... I also have a few makeup wipes handy! They are great at taking color of your skin if it should get somewhere it shouldn't. I have them handy before I start applying products to my hair and again after the was the product out of my hair. I can give my face, neck and ears the once over if any color remains after washing out. This product left my hair soft and pulled together, meaning less frizzy when styled and dry. Happy glossing ladies!

You can never go wrong with Kristin Ess
I have used this gloss before in other shades whenever I need a touch up on my salon treated hair. I feel like it brings your color back to life before making a visit to the salon. This time around I used the shade “Ruby (medium true red).” I had a reddish toned balayage done at the salon a few weeks ago, and if you know anything about red tones, you really need to do a lot of maintenance in order to keep the tone. I tried this Ruby shade for the first time, as opposed to the darker red shade Kristin Ess makes. On me, I would give it a 4-4.5⭐️/5 when I actually fix my hair (like in the picture). My hair looks shiny and feels soft. However, I may try the darker red shade next time. I feel like the color is more of an orange/red, especially in the sunlight… and a little in the picture. I wanted the color more red. I’m not sure if the tone is a perfect match for me, but I’ll work with it for now. I do wish they expanded the color choices on these glosses as they’re a little limited. Especially in the choices of red.. it’s either a light orange red like this Ruby color, or a dark burgundy red like the shade Wild Berry. I gave this product 5⭐️/5 because it’s always easy to use, everything is in the box (you don’t need to add any other products), and it doesn’t compromise your hair, just add the color shine you need. It’s helpful in covering any grays in the meanwhile. Definitely recommend & especially at the price!

Made my hair so shiny!
This product made my hair so pretty and shiny! My hair was already dark so I didn’t have high hopes that the color would be very vibrant which I was right about. There was a slight tint when the light hit it but otherwise no color. If you have dark hair and you want this to color your hair, this is not the product for you. If you want healthy and shiny looking hair with a tint then go for it!

Weak, messy, doesn't last
My hair is naturally light-brown, but usually dyed red with some bleached highlights. I tried this product 5 weeks after my last professional dye to see if it could "cover the gap" until my next treatment, 4 weeks later. It failed. This temp gloss dye is messier to use as a Clairol or L'Oreal permanent color, and it will quite happily (and permanently) stain any wood in your bathroom. Unfortunately, unlike those permanent dyes, the Kristin Ess Gloss only added a slight red hue to my hair, which had entirely faded within 3 weeks. If I need a temporary dye, I'll use Wella Color Fresh Masks in the future. Those are bright, don't stain my bathroom, and last for 4-5 weeks, which is what I'd hope for from a temp hair mask/dye.

Great shine for red ♥️🍒 hair.
It turned out super nice and I had just colored my hair in raspberry but googled if ok to follow with a shine gloss. I don't normally wear my long hair down but it looked so nice afterwards that I did. Ty Jesus and Amen 🙏🙏🙏.

Disappointed
Kind of disappointed. I got the wild berry color to renew a salon gloss that didn’t last long, to cover a grown out balayage. I would say this gave me some berry highlights vs an all over gloss. It didn’t do anything to my dark roots which I didn’t really expect it to. This photo was taken right after doing the gloss, I’m writing this review the next day and a lot already washed out in the shower this morning. Probably won’t buy again!
