Laderas del Tapias, Colombia - Roasted and Ground Single Origin Estate Coffees - Laderas del Tapias Farms located in the Caldas, Colombia grow and produce only the highest quality 100% Colombia coffee. The altitude of our farm and the climate regime makes this coffee very balanced between sweetness and acidity. Cup: Floral traces, grapes, blueberry, red apple. Varietal: Caturra - Washed Processing - Colombian coffee is considered the best washed Arabica coffee in the world. Once the ripened cherries are collected by the coffee pickers, the red cherries are peeled and fermented in a controlled environment then water is used to remove the mucilago (a sticky layer that surrounds the bean). This washing process gives the name to this kind of processing method. Once the mucilago has been removed the clean beans are ready to be dried either by mechanical means or by direct sunlight. After the beans are dried the coffee is taken to the milling facilities and milled, after this process the coffee will be ready to roast.
