Keeps honest people honest. After I got these I realized the locking function can be defeated by simply loosening the strap. They look serious though. I guess that's sufficient for safe areas? But if there's a way to actually secure them from being loosened I didn't notice it. I used them for a flight through two airports and back. One being Chicago, which I fully expected to be robbed in. I wasn't. So, they at least appear to keep people out of your stuff. Or security there is much better than the rumors claim. Not sure. The locking mechanism is simple and easy to understand. Again, it is defeated by simply loosening the strap. Which is separate from the locking mechanism of unclipping and re-clipping. Maybe there was a way to set this, but as I said, I couldn't find it. Easy to use and reuse. Not particularly heavy and easy to store. Fit over a changing bag size because of quantity without issue.

These are great luggage straps. Easy to wrap around the luggage. TSA complaint lock makes sure that the authorities can open the bag if there is a need. It also help identify the bag among hundreds of similar looking bags. Very happy with the purchase.

With no reset button, you will need to disassemble in order to re-set the locking mechanism if you forget the three digit code (( I forgot after my last use )). Fortunately there are three screws on the underside which makes disassembly pretty easy....assembly takes a bit of fiddling if you have sausage fingers like mine.

Bought for my husband to lock up storage containers at his work camp. He loves how easy and useful these locking straps are. They are fairly priced, easy to set, and can be used in many different ways for security. I gave it a four because we haven't had them long enough to test their endurance.
