Amazing fly traps, work quickly and good quality!
1 year update: I've used probably 4-5 of these traps since I bought them last summer and still love them. The bait clearly has a long shelf life because I just put a new one out a few days ago and it's already half full of flies. None of them have leaked. All of them catch THOUSANDS of flies very quickly, significantly reducing the nuisance level in my yard. I stopped bothering to fill them with hot water; just fill them from a hose, hang them up, and let mother nature warm them up. The only annoying thing is that one of them somehow came with the bait bag jammed up between the plastic pieces where the "cap" pulls out to open it. It took a few minutes to get it shoved back down into the bag without damaging the bag itself, but ended up okay. I'll definitely be reordering another pack of these when I run out. 1 week update: The one in my front yard is almost FULL of flies. There's been a probably 90% drop in flies buzzing around my workbench when I'm in the garage. There's a dwarf apple tree of some sort next door that's full of rotting fruit so they won't completely go away, but the decrease in numbers has been great! I don't notice the smell unless I'm right next to the bag and there's no sign of leaking yet. Most of the liquid is gone so I'll probably throw it out and put up a new one soon. The one out back was ripped open probably by a raccoon but it still caught enough that my dog and I aren't being swarmed by house flies in the yard again yet! Wish I'd bought these years ago! Original review: Pests of all varieties have been driving me and my dog insane this year; deer flies, fleas, mosquitoes, biting gnats, and house/horse flies. I haven't used this kind of bag trap (even though I know they work) because they're stinky and a pain to dispose of but I'm desperate and SO GLAD I did. I put the first two out about a day and a half ago, one towards the street in the front yard and one hung in a tree out past the fenced-in part of my back yard. They were easy to open (cut a little past the dotted line or the top won't pull out easily), kind of awkward to fill in the shallow sink faucet (I'll use a spigot next time and let the sun warm them up), but they come with a nice hanging wire and it took maybe 2 minutes to set them up. There's no sign of leaking at least in these two. And wow do these things work!!! The one out front has a solid INCH of dead flies in it already. They're buzzing around the top all but fighting each other to squeeze inside and get caught! I haven't gone that close to the one in back, but for the first time all year, I went to pick up my dog's "business" tonight and it wasn't swarmed with flies by the time I walked across the yard! I haven't noticed any smell yet, but I also put them far enough from the house that it shouldn't be a problem. Now, one bit of false advertising is that these will NOT catch deer flies. Maybe the odd one by accident, but deer flies don't hunt by scent. The stinky bait in these will catch regular house and horse flies, probably most of the other varieties listed, but not deer flies. Those little jerks hunt by sight, looking for horizontal motion. They ARE attracted to the color blue, which maybe is why they claim this trap will catch them, but it's not moving and they won't be attracted to the scent of the bait, so they probably won't go inside. I normally use sticky traps for wasps and flies but the Rescue wasp traps have gotten EXPENSIVE the last couple years. The smaller Rescue fly traps aren't quite as expensive, work great, but are full in under a week so those get expensive too. (Yes, FULL, like someone rolled them in a bunch of dead flies!) I tried the really cheap Black Flag brand yellow sticky traps and those were a joke, nothing stuck to them and they fell apart in days. If you don't have that bad of a problem, or don't want to deal with the potential mess and stink of these traps, get the Rescue ones. If you're being driven absolutely batty by flies, get these traps!

Great product !
Wow ! They start working within 20-30 min ! I have 3 up for 3 days so far in my front and back yards and they each are still pulling in hundreds. I keep them away from my entry doors because they are absolutely stinky as can be. You can also add a little more water into the top of them with a hose when the sun or hot days dries them out.

Safe and Effective Fly Control
I hung the first of the four traps I recently purchased and I’m already sorry I didn’t buy a larger supply of the traps, because the first one is filling up so fast!! From the minute it was hung in my butterfly garden, it started doing its job. The flys love it and the butterflies and bees completely ignore it! The trap is even attracting Tachinid flys, known to kill Monarch butterfly caterpillars. I was warned the traps would emit a strong, unpleasant odor, but I have not noticed any smell at all!

Works great, Smells terrible
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This product does work really well, however it had a strong putrid odor. I don't have a large back yard, so I have limitations on where I can hang this, so anytime I'm in the yard I can smell it. It reminds me of my Uncle's pig farm, but 10x worse. I had to add water to the bag since it was getting low and the reactivated scent about knocked me out. I won't be using the 2nd bag because of that, but it does do a great job of clearing the flies out, and that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Nope! Go get the bright yellow/green bags because they work MUCH better!
I’d give this product zero stars if I could! I live in Riverside County, California, and right now we have a massive influx of flies. It’s awful, so I wanted to get some fly traps so we can go back to eating outdoors without constantly being bombarded. I originally picked up a few of another brand (with bright greenish yellow packaging) and it did so well I thought I’d buy a few more, you know to boost my chances of venturing outdoors once more. That’s when I found this brand. Oh they are terrible. I’ve had three up outdoors for over 24 hours and nothing but about 5 flies in one of them. And yes, I made sure that the water was up to the fill line & the ingredient bag inside was dissolved, trust me it stinks…just not as much as the other brand that the flies clearly like much better! The other brand started attracting flies within 5 minutes & already each of those bags is at least 2” deep in dead flies.

Only placed out 24 hours ago. So far it’s working great. Lots of comments mention the smell but no noticeable smell yet.
