The internal design of man
The author gets to the point, no fillers is what I appreciated. Each paragraph caused me to pause and think on what I just read. I reco.mend this book for seekers pushing past material stuff searching for the meaning of "what is?".

A Misnomer
The book is, in my opinion, mistitled. The real value of the book lies in Hall's discussion and exposition on the basics of the study of the occult. His no-nonsense look at the prerequisites, the challenges, the pitfalls and the process of beginning and then continuing the study of the mysteries are one of the best out there. While he does discuss the chakras and other elements that are traditionally viewed as the spiritual centers, 90% of the book is about the challenges of discipleship - and the value that reading just those elements make this book a must for anyone seeking to study ANY religious or occult path seriously.

Aspirations to The Diviness of All
I highly recommend this reading and practice to any who understands Universal Maati given by the ancestors of archaic Ethiopia. Though this process has undergone many interpretations it is still possible to draw near enough to the consciousness of the Sheps to extend their guidance. Hetep to All.

Touches On Many Mysterious Subjects
This short booklet talks about many interesting subjects related to the legends about the mystery schools and the initiation rites that were practiced in ancient Egypt, Mexico, and according to Hall other places like India. I wasn't sure how much Manly Hall was talking from personal experience and how much was just general information about these mysterious subjects. There are 7 spinal chakras in the human body. The number 7 has mystical meanings in the bible including the Book Of Revelation as Hall points out. Like Edgar Cayce Hall saw a connection between Revelation and the human body. This book is sort of broken up into two sections. The first section covers the 7 prerequisite cardinal requirements that all initiates must first understand before attempting to learn about these mysterious forces of nature. Then Hall talks about the 7 more specific factors the initiation candidates must then understand.Hall tells how becoming an initiate takes many years of patient study as the individual overcomes his lower nature. He warns of the dangers of attempting to experiment with things like advanced yoga techniques without being properly prepared. There's also the ever present danger of crossing the line into black magic either intentionally or by not being able to prevent other evil sorcerers from high jacking the person's energies. This is all very mysterious and outside the perception of most people. What Manly Hall doesn't elaborate on however is why someone would want to become an initiate and what exactly they would be able to do with their powers. That's probably part of the secrecy involving the subject of initiation rites in general. The initiates were sworn to secrecy about what they learned about. To violate those vows of secrecy would incur the wrath of the gods. Most people will never experience the initiation rites or delve into the mysteries of advanced yoga techniques. But I think we all learn some of the more basic lessons and truths Hall talks about just by living and through the process of reincarnation. However what Hall is talking about goes beyond those basic truths and gets into the area of secret occult knowledge and mysteries of nature and the human body. But as I said Hall does not elaborate on what exactly this knowledge would allow people to do. If Hall even did know the answer to that question he doesn't provide the answer in this booklet.I believe Manly Hall was correct that secret knowledge existed in the ancient past in places like Egypt. I think the bible alludes to some of this where Moses and Aaron have the confrontation with the pharaoh's evil magicians. Some people say Moses was a member and initiate of the secret Egyptian priesthood. There's an interesting past life memory in Brian Weiss' book "Same Soul Many Bodies" where this guy remembered being a priest in very ancient Egypt. He said they used something called energy rods which generated both light and sound. These priests could cause the human body to regenerate an arm or leg that had been lost in warfare. These arcane healing arts were practiced in the utmost secrecy in the temples.Alchemy is I believe a legend that has a basis in reality. Alchemy seems to be a place where time, space, and matter converge in very mysterious ways. The mysterious alchemist Fulcanelli was I believe some sort of initiate. I highly recommend the book below about Fulcanelli. The legend of Atlantis is very strange including the destruction account. Plato attributes this catastrophe to the wrath of Zeus and Poseidon. However Edgar Cayce and others say Atlantis was destroyed when spiritual truths were misused for greed and self aggrandizement. Black magic and sorcery in other words. Perhaps Plato and Cayce were saying the same thing but in different ways.Edgar Cayce stated that Christ traveled to Egypt and India during His so called missing years that weren't captured in the bible and Christ experienced the Egyptian initiation rites. I believe Cayce also said the great Thoth was Christ in His Egyptian form. It's an interesting question about whether any of this knowledge has survived up until today.AtlantisEdgar Cayce's Atlantis and Lemuria: The Lost Civilizations in the Light of Modern DiscoveriesEdgar Cayce's Egypt: Psychic Revelations on the Most Fascinating Civilization Ever KnownInitiationInitiation in the Great Pyramid (Astara's library of mystical classics)Fulcanelli: Master Alchemist: Le Mystere des Cathedrales, Esoteric Intrepretation of the Hermetic Symbols of The Great WorkSame Soul, Many Bodies: Discover the Healing Power of Future Lives through Progression TherapyThe Temple in Man: Sacred Architecture and the Perfect ManEdgar Cayce on the Revelation: A Study Guide for Spiritualizing Body and MindThe Secret Teachings of All Ages (Reader's Edition)

Informative
Great read. eye opening to the true practice. I can see how the West has commercialized and profited off half truths.

The Guiding Light for a student of Esoteric Philosophy
I didn't quite understand the massive undertaking of studying the Occult and becoming illumined until I read this work. Read this book if you are into the Occult even the slightest or study religion seriously. I found myself thanking Mr. Hall after I finished reading. To reach enlightenment you must put in the time and take thousands upon thousands of small steps. Thank you Mr. Hall.
