Are they good as Sharpies ???
I have recently taken up the hobby of coloring in adult coloring books. I first tried colored pencils and I found you had to press hard to get any color. I then tried Ultra fine Sharpies. I love Sharpies and have purchased EVERY COLOR AVAILABLE but I'm still not satisfied with the color choices. That's what led me to the BIC Mark-it ultra fines 36 count pack.OK,you get 36 colors in a great cases. The case holds the pens firmly and folds out to display them perfectly for use. I love the case and it's the only reason I gave these 5 stars rather than 4. The color selection is great. I mostly wanted these to get more pastels and brown hues. For the most part I'm happy with my purchase. Here's a little about these:* You get 36 markers.* The markers have rubberized grips. They are very comfortable to hold.* The ink color on many of the markers is way off from the pen cap color.* The tips on the BIC ultra fines is about the same as a Ultra fine sharpie. I would say the Sharpies tip is just a tiny bit finer.* I find these are NOT as bright as Sharpies.* Color flow differs greatly between pens. Some flow too freely others are quite dry.* The tip does not cut, tear or put grooves in your coloring page.* They do bleed through coloring book pages.* I feel the tips "wear" more quickly compared to Sharpies.* Color selection is great. They include many hues of green(5?) They also have a nice section of pastels. Also there is a great "Tan" pen included. I love the tan pen for coloring in backgrounds.Overall, these are worth adding to your marker collection. I wont say their better than Sharpie but I do like the color choices in this set.

Excellent quality
Can't beat the quality of these markers. Great color selection and they last a long time. Order arrived a day early. Excellent.

My go to markers for my adult coloring books.
My go to markers for my adult coloring books. I love that they have 3 tones of the different colors, it makes for good shading effects. The color comes out on the page slightly darker than is ends up being once it is completely dry. The ink colors smoothly and there is very little if any streaking unless you are coloring a large area and even then is minimal. I have been able to blend colors together by coloring darker over lighter tones while the lighter ink is still damp, but you have to be quick since it dries fairly quickly. I will say the color indicators, the clip, barrel band and end tip, on the pens themselves are not an accurate match to the ink on paper. No two colors are exact matches but some are very close, the darkest greens and the berry and the plum come to mind. Some of the light tones could be lighter, but compared to similar types of markers I am happy to have them. The ultra fine tips are good for most fine details, however like most alcohol markers they do bleed some. So you do have to be careful getting close to the lines as they could spread color beyond the line. They will definitely bleed through to the other side of the page on any of the paper i have had in a coloring book. I don't use them in books that have images on both sides of the page. I don't count this as a negative because it is the nature of the coloring medium not just this specific brand. The tri-fold storage container works really well form and helps to keep them organized and protected. It is sturdy and in the several months of regular use has not shown any wear and tear yet.I have also used Sharpie ultra fine point markers and I like the Bic better for range of color and smoothness in application, that said they are vary similar. I have a 24 set of the Sharpies that does have a few colors not in the Bic set, most notably neon colors. If I could only have one set of markers, the Bic Mark-it Ultra Fine would be the set I would choose.I have attached a couple page I colored with the Bics. The fourth image was an attempt at blending the markers together. I am pretty happy with the results.

WONDERFUL 36-count ultra fine markers, the EXACT same colors as the BIC 36-count fine point markers (sold separately)!
I was SO pleasantly surprised to find these ultra fine point BIC colored markers in the 36-count packaging with the EXACT same colors as the BIC fine point markers!! This is so VERY useful for all kinds of projects in which you need an ultra fine pen for smaller details and a larger tip (they call it fine, but I would say it is more like a fine to medium tip) to color in larger areas! Compared to the similar Sharpie markers, there are more colors and more lighter and subtle colors like tan and rust, olive green, sky blue and lavender, lemon yellow and light grey (my color names), which are SO useful for people like me, adult coloring book enthusiasts! I also really like the clear plastic packaging for these markers which is excellent for displaying the colors, and is durable for opening and closing frequently as you use them. One thing about these BIC ultra fine point pens and also the BIC fine point pens is that you have to go over the area twice if you want a rich, deep color, such as for coloring larger areas or for shading. This is a good thing, I think, because this means you can go over an area once only if you want a more subtle, lighter color, which you can’t with the Sharpie markers. You can also buy the individual markers separately from the BIC website, which you cannot do for other colored pens of this type, so you don’t waste money if you run out of one or 2 colors, like I do with the light blue I use for skies, and the light tan which I use frequently. BIC has really supported the adult coloring book revolution and I hope they continue to do so – I hope they are developing an even wider range of colors for us to use!

A great starter marker set, almost as good as Prismacolors
I ordered these markers based upon other reviewers and suggestions for pairing with coloring books. The markers have a fine tip that allows you to color in small sections well, and also larger sections without taking too long. I have used these a bit on fabric and shiny surfaces, but they are best used on standard paper. The grip is comfortable, with a rubber band around the middle of each pen so that the marker does not slip as you work. The variety of colors is good for any beginner colorist or artist. When I order more, I will definitely be getting a pack with more colors. There are a few markers that are far too dark or far to light to use in most circumstances. The brighter colors are vibrant. For the most part, the markers have lasted well (the seafoam green marker died early) over a period of months, coloring in a few coloring books. The markers WILL BLEED through most paper, so make sure you protect surfaces underneath what you are currently working on.The packaging of this product is smart. You can unfold open the plastic flaps and very easily see your palette of colors. This makes for great travel. After a few months, once I was familiar with the colors, I threw out the plastic case and carried the markers in a small pencil case instead because it was more convenient for me.

Great color and shine
NOTE: putting this at the top for people not familiar with these kinds of pens. They need to be stored cap down. If your new pens seem dried out, store them this way for an hour or so and see if that makes a difference. I have used the silver Sharpies for years, for marking black plastic electronics. Now, got me some color ones for fun. A girl's gotta have some fun, ya know! :o)The BiC 8-pack (silver, gold, bronze, pink, purple, blue, and 2 greens) I purchased via Amazon. The Sharpie 4-pack (silver, gold, red, green) I purchased in-store at Walmart.I'm doing a combined review and posting at both places. The white paper is a cheap mini-composition book page. The black is the plastic back cover of the same composition book.Specifics:The names of the colors are per what is on the barrels of the pens.I wrote with the pens held nearly perpendicular, trying to get the finest line I could, even turning the pens as I wrote. See the pictures for the results. The three lines following each color were all done at the same three angles for each pen. The BiCs have more variation in that department. However, while I was able to get a pretty fine line from some of them in the three-angle lines, I was not always able to get those fine lines while writing for either brand. The ink flow seems a little freer with the BiCs, which may also lead to them drying out sooner. Time will tell.Smearing: Once good and dry, I didn't get any smearing from any the Sharpies, on either the paper or the plastic cover. The BiCs smeared only on the plastic cover, and they all smeared, with the metal colors smearing the least. The Amethyst, Sapphire, and Jade had a little silver showing through pretty much from the get-go. When I rubbed my finger across them, these colors smeared more, and it was the color that smeared off, leaving silver behind. The Sapphire and Jade had the most color rub off. I took a star off of the BiC because of the smearing. If a person uses these where they won't get smeared, it won't be a problem. In general, I like all of them. I think they will definitely do for my intended use. The BiCs: shipment from Amazon was quick, and they arrived in tact and working. :o)

GRRRRRRREEEAAATT!!!!!
Repeat buyer of these & the "fine" set.LOVE them! Was SO excited to see them as deal of the day at 55% off, I HAD to buy them (even tho I just bought a 24ct set the other day - which will be returned, & this was my 2nd order of the day). These markers are fabulous to use. They are alcohol based, & do bleed on most paper. But if you practice & refine your coloring a bit, that can be avoided. They will bleed even after you've moved on to another color.Another way to prevent/alleviate that is to trace the section with a gel pen (I use glitter pens) prior to using the marker. But you have to press HARD to create a slight indentation in the paper. (A look I like anyway)The array of colors is wonderful. Lots of choices.I just need to remember that I have enough for the moment & stop buying them...but I just couldn't resist the price on this one - the only set I don't have (all 36 ULTRAFINE).I've got, now, 5 (FIVE!) sets of these. SMH (But I do manage 3 properties & often get stuck waiting in my car for couple/few hrs for my kids, so, I've spread them out 😉).I've grounded myself until they dry out. LOL

Great markers! Truly great! Colors are vibrant, and match very closely to the barrel :)
I have to say I was skeptical. I ended up buying an 8 marker set at a local store, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these BIC Mark-it brands. So I ordered this set. The color on the barrel is actually very close, if not identical to, the color on a piece of white paper. These are great for coloring, so far have used them on Angie Grace coloring books. 36 wonderful colors. The case is plastic, and it has a blue tab on the left, with Open Here. You lift that open, and you flip it open. Then the center one flips outward. So you end up with 3 connected panels of 12 pens. And each set of 12 appears to be color complimentary to the others in that group, which makes it easy if you are wanting to color, in say, an Angie Grace book, and want to have the colors from the same "tone". Smooth writing/coloring, as well. The ONLY problem someone may have, is some of the caps are tough to get off. Means it will be less likely to dry out I would think, but may make it more difficult for younger kids, or adults with issues with their hands. But they do come off, with just a little bit of force. I am a "weaker" person in terms of being able to grip and pull things, my 19 year old son has no issue.

Bic Permanent Markers 36 count
The colours are beautiful and the fine points are excellent for fine line detail in colouring. I wished I ordered a second set

Amazing Color and Ultra Fine
DISLIKE: when they arrived like a month late, the box was destroyed and the package the markers come in was crushed it was then packaged in a plastic bag by the Postal Service, I assume BUT I only received 20 of the 36 markers in the package. This is a shipping issue and sad to wait so long and not get the full package I paid for.
