Can I use one bag and keep the other bags for future use?

Yes, but keep the other bags sealed in an air-tight package or container. Otherwise they will absorb moisture from the air and become saturated and need recharging.

Do i open the bag or leave it closed?

Don't open! Bags are water vapor permeable.

"A residential oven may overheat the and melt the packages even if set to 245 degF; so be careful." Ya this happened. So how do you safely reactivate?

Any oven which heats with radiant heat shining on the Tyvek pouches will melt them. Just like the sun will heat the suface of your car far above the outside air temperature. A convection oven running in "true convection" mode, and with good temperature regulation, may work. My kitchen Bosch brand convection oven works for me. Another possible approach would be to shield the pouches from radiant heat with aluminum foil -- above and below. The foil should not touch the pouches. Also, try heating the pouches at a lower temperature for a longer period. Bottom line is it's hard to do in a residential kitchen oven unless it's a convection oven that does not uses radiant heat (the glowing heating elements). Good luck and please report back.

Hi Bret from Redrock Desiccants here. How long the bag lasts depends on where and how you use it. These bags each contains 4 Units of desiccant. Each Unit of desiccant is able to absorb three grams of water vapor at 20% relative humidity and at least six grams of water vapor at 40% relative humidity at 77 degrees F. At that point they need to be replaced or recharged. If, for example, the bag was placed in an airtight container that was rarely opened it would last much longer than if it were placed in a non airtight container which was often opened.

Excellent for use in a wine cooler!

I was dealing with excessive humidity inside my 108 bottle wine cooler and these packs have brought the humidity down to a manageable level (30-40%). I bought 2 sets so that I can recharge one set while using the other set. So far, they are exceeding my expectations!
