- Each of the 10x insemination kits includes: - 25ml Sarstedt sterile pot with conical base for sperm to collect, - 5ml BD Emerald sterile syringe which can pull apart, - 1.3ml Romsons sterile extension tube, - Dispatched with Royal Mail with online delivery confirmation. These 10x kits are designed to be used with our complete artificial insemination kit, when you've run out of pots, syringes and tubes (check our other items for sale). This is because we'd recommend the use of a speculum to.
- physically see the cervix and place the semen directly onto the cervix. This technique also allows you to 'dose' the semen, delivering a tiny a to the cervix every 5 minutes, until the pot is empty. ComfiSpec vaginal speculums are comfortable and very safe, they can be rinsed with warm water and reused (with the same couple) as many times as needed. Only ever use a speculum with a thumbwheel - any other design do not meet the British standard in safety. The insemination kits are also.
- sterile and can be rinsed and re-used but must be thoroughly dried before storage. We'd recommend using a new insemination kit each time - mostly for convenience. We can send replacement insemination kits without speculums or head torch (please see our other listings). The 5ml syringe and soft ended sterile tubes work perfectly together. The sterile pot has an internally conical bottom, allowing easy handling of the semen and an ability to cut small volumes away by pressing the tube into the.
- bottom cone (when semen is thick and sticking together). The head torch allows you to focus the beam so you don't blind your partner, the direction is fully adjustable and it has a low power setting. It also comes with a flashing 'disco vagina' setting, but we wouldn't recommend this setting for inseminations! Here, I'm going to describe a great at home artificial insemination protocol using fresh sperm - the idea is, we want to help as many people as possible to be successful. This process.
- is called intra-cervical insemination or ICI. These are done around the world at home and in clincal settings. However, it is not possible to do an intra-uterine insemination or IUI at home because washed sperm must be used for this and it's not possible to put any liquid beyond the cervix outwith a clinical setting - therefore, never try to put anything through the cervix. The easiest way to get pregnant is using fresh sperm applied directly to the cervix, and let the sperm swim through.

themselves. We'd recommend abstaining from ejaculation for 2-4
days before insemination - this allows the concentration to build
up. Many heterosexual couples struggle to conceive because they
have too much sex, the male's sperm concentration is never
allowed to get high enough to allow successful conception.
Excellent timing of a high quality insemination is much better
than lots of low quality ones. Most of our pregnancies are from a
single pot of sperm, produced about 12-24 hours after the LH
surge ideally - although of course it will also work outside this
window also. We know that ovulation (the release of the egg) will
happen 24-36 hours after LH appears in the urine. We also know
that the egg must be fertilised within 0.6 days (about 14 hours)
of the egg being released for it to have developed sufficiently
enough for it to im. The sperm is happiest in a sealed
container and at room temperature. In this state it will be
useable for many hours. In a sperm bank, it sits in its pot for
an hour before it is even processed, so you have hours and hours
to do the insemination. Air doesn't harm sperm because it stays
in the liquid semen, but if the semen dries out - the sperm will
die - so keep the lid on when not taking out part of the semen.
Most people will leave the semen to liquefy from the gel phase
for about half an hour or more before trying to take any out. But
it is possible to use semen still in the gel phase even though
it's much thicker. Take your time, even if this means the
insemination takes many hours, there really is no rush at all.
It's easiest if you put the speculum into your own vagina, some
women even prefer to open it themselves too. If using lubricant
on the speculum - it's best if it's fertility friendly lubricant
but try to keep it away from the donation. Your partner will be
able to tell you if the cervix is visible (looks like a little
donut with little hole in the middle). If its not visible try

further before opening. The vagina takes the shape of an object
pushed into it. Imagine pushing a pen into a rolled-out condom -
the further you push the pen, the more likely the end of the pen
will find the end of the condom. This is a bit like a vagina and
speculum. Be careful when closing the speculum as not to pinch
the skin of the vagina or to grab the cervix with the duck bill -
therefore it's best not to fully close the speculum when taking
it out.

Directions
----------
Once you've found the cervix, take a tube and syringe out and
put the ter end of the tube away from the syringe - the
end of the tube is free from sharp edges and is safe to touch the
cervix with. Pull in some air into the tube and into the syringe
(upto to the 1ml mark). This air allows you to get the last of
the semen out. Then open the pot and put the tube into the semen.
Go for the cloudiest part of the liquid - this is where the sperm
are, the more opaque it is - the better. Take

up about 0.2ml (one graduation mark on the syringe) and apply
this to the hole in the middle of the cervix (also called the os
of the cervix). If there is any thick mucus in the way, you can
move it aside with the tube. After applying the semen, wait 5
minutes, then move any liquid off the cervix and apply another
0.2ml to the hole. Then wait 5 minutes to allow the sperm to swim
into the hole, continuing this until the pot is empty.
