Perfect first pair of running shoes, probably.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I've never owned running shoes before these, but I love them. I took up running during the Coronavirus lockdown (with a mask, be safe y'all), and they seem like everything that I, as a non-runner, hoped that good running shoes would be:1. They're shockingly light, to the point that for a half-second I was worried I'd been sent an empty box. Apart from the cushioning, it feels like I'm not wearing shoes at all, weight-wise.2. Speaking of cushioning, it is excellent. I like that it doesn't feel spongy or overly soft; I was hoping for protection from jarring impacts, not feeling like I was running on a waterbed, and I can definitely still feel the road/trail through the soles, which is a plus for me personally.3. The lining is maybe my favorite part. the designers/manufacturers did a great job of avoiding any friction on seams and so forth inside the shoe, so I haven't developed any blisters or sore skin spots, which I was concerned about.4. They're also just nice-looking shoes that don't scream LOOK AT ME IM A RUNNER R U? I wish I'd opted for the plaid-patterned ones, but the grey/black ones don't look out of place with normal, casual clothes. All in all, with no frame of reference whatsoever, these seem like fantastic running shoes.

Continued Reliability
I waited a couple months after purchase to make sure I couldform an opinion. I've been buying ghosts for years (since i started exercising regularly about a decade ago with my first pair being i think the model 5 or 6). I go through a pair about every 3 years as i do a mix of treadmill, outdoor and indoor lifting workouts 5 days a week in these. I'm always concerned the new models will change fit or performance, but these continue to provide solid wear, comfort and fit for me. I've tried other brands that just don't work for my flat feet. These continue to eliminate the knee and back issues i've experienced using other brands. They are comfortable and work for varied workouts. I can see how some are complaining about them not venting as well as previous models, but it's winter and not as much of an issue right now, but i do notice my feet are warmer and socks definitely wetter after a workout. We'll see if they last as long as previous models, but so far i see no indication they won't.

Better than advertised!
I'm a "not very good", 64 year old runner. I needed new running shoes so I did some research. I selected the Brooks Ghost 12's as I need a good cushion, good fit and a good weight. I have been having pain in my hips, knees, ankles and have had trouble with my shins. Also, despite my age, I still feel I can run faster than I have since I started 5 years ago. With these shoes, I no longer have the leg pain. I am running much better as my stride has improved due to no pain . My legs don't feel as tired during or between runs. I have honestly been struggling to run faster. Now that fall is approaching, the weather is cooling with lower humidity. I'm sure that is the main reason why I am running faster. But these shoes are also helping a lot. Since I got them, I have run faster times in the 1, 2, 4 and 5 mile road runs than in the past 4 years. My next goal is in the 5K. I haven't beat that time yet but plan to soon. These shoes are just what the Dr. ordered.

Dad loved these shoes -- said the narrow size was perfect!
I bought these for my elderly father, who has narrow heels. I had noticed that Dad was lacing his shoes up quite tight, and decided to try to find him some narrow sneakers instead. These shoes were absolutely perfect! The narrow width allowed him to better adjust the laces for proper fit and good comfort and stability as he walked. He walked easier and beter wearing properly fitted shoes.PLEASE make a version of these shoes with hook-and-loop straps instead of laces. Dad's hands struggle with laces at all now, and I had to change him over to shoes with hook-and-loop straps. I have found none that come in narrow widths, so Dad is once again wearing shoes that are a little too wide, reducing the stability of his step. A strapped version of these shoes would have been ideal!

UPDATED REVIEW: Still a great shoe, but beware sizing inconsistent..
Best running shoes ever for a neutral runner looking for good support and cushioning. I have had for a year and run 3-4 miles every other day. Love these shoes and have held up incredibly well.UPDATE: ordered a second pair and the fit is not consistent at all. My first fit perfect but the second pair same size (10.5M) are too short. Unfortunately I thought it was just because they needed to break in and stretch but not the case. Now I’ve run several times and can’t return them. Very disappointed in Brooks lack of quality control on the sizing. Still a great show design and overall quality. Will be trying my luck with the Ghost 13 and donating these. If you get these and they are a little snug in the toe, don’t make my mistake of thinking they will stretch after break in. I’d return them and get a 1/2 size up.

Great shoe for lots of walking. Runs a bit on the small size.
This is the most comfortable shoe I've had for walking, and I do a lot of that in my travels. I got the all-black ones which I can also use for semi-formal wear on cruise ships and other places. But I cannot express how great these are for comfort and fit. My only issue is they trend to run just a tad small, so I would order the next size up, like get a 9/12 instead of a 9.

Great for the hard HIIT or the long haul
These shoes have now become what one might call a generational tradition in my family. I am currently 20. Throughout my teenage years, I struggled with patellar tendonitis and was never able to run for an extended period of time without pain or consequence. Before going to basic training, my dad took me running shoe shopping and recommended that I try the Ghost, what he'd been running in for years. The Ghost 10 did not let me down at basic and I am now on my second pair of Ghosts, the Ghost 12. I run six days a week and do not have knee problems. Of course not all of my knees' recovery can be attributed to this shoe, but the mere fact that they have not made my knees worse/sparked the pain again definitely stands out to me.Overall, I would recommend this shoe to anyone who loves to hit the pavement. Be it for long runs or sprints, these shoes have served me very well. (Just make sure you the neutral pronation of these is right for you!)

Very good but not great
My feet measures exactly 10 inches, I ordered a size 10 Brooks Ghost 12 and it fits as expected. This shoe is neutral-moderately supportive, I have an average arch and did not feel any discomfort. The shoe is responsive it doesn't feel dead I can feel the outsole is working a little. Very flexible. Enough room doesn't feel narrow. I take one star away from the shoe why, because it is 10.4 oz for size 9, heavier than most lightest shoes on the market. I have a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam Beacon that weights only 7.3 oz for size 9 and gives more cushioning than the Ghost 12, also looks better on my feet. Also, the Ghost 12 are more a walking shoe than a running shoe. If you plan to run long distance and fast and want to stay with Brooks perhaps the Hyperion or the T7 is better. I did like the 12mm drop of the Ghost 12, it feels like the shoe is encouraging you to move forward I like it for walking and of course they are very comfy. I recommend the Ghost 12 if you don't mind having a heavier shoe by today standard and remind yourself that this is NOT a fast shoe and there is better for running and lighter alternative with as much comfort. If Brooks can make the Ghost weights less than 8oz it will be a 5 stars best of its kind.

Finally, a great shoe for my Metatarsal pain
I am a bigger guy with extreme metatarsal pain in my right foot which was repeatedly injured at my work (before Covid shutdown) by climbing 3 flights of stairs 20+ times a day and the amount of walking. It took me time to figure out that one of main part of the cause of injury is my shoes, that lack of support or cushion in that area.So I took time to research online as much as possible and read reviews which led me to these shoes. Brooks Ghost 12 and after wearing I can say it is the answer to my prayers.Fits true to size both lower and upperGreat cushion from toe to healGood arch supportMetatarsal cushionBreathableLightweight.I will update at a later time with the longevity of support and durability. If you are a runner this would be ideal for you but if you are like me, someone who suffers foot pain in the metatarsal area (ball of foot behind your toes) then this is the shoes for you

Life span review
These shoes have lasted around 1000km, which is about right according to Brooks - The seam has just split on the outer edge of both shoes and sadly, they are off in the bin.Bought these for long distance work as reviews were decent. Performed pretty well cross country and not a bad shoe, can’t really fault it. Comfort started to wear off in longer runs towards the end.Not exactly “must buy again” material. I’d probably recommend something a bit more techy. I feel like a decent pair of shoes adds a level of psyche as you put them on and even as far as psyche from the feedback each foot strike. However, I can only describe this shoe as having a beige personality.

Delighted with Ghost 12
I bought the Brooks product as a recommendation by my brother. He recommended these as we both have a high arched foot and that these would provide additional support. I'm delighted to say that he wasn't wrong. As someone who would have lived and died by Asics , these Ghost 12 are a sturdy well fitting running shoe. I'm a size 10 UK and ordered size 10 UK and they fit perfect. I normally run routes anywhere between 6.5k -10 k on hilly country roads and these Brooks Ghost 12 absolutely eat them up for breakfast. The only small fault I could find with them is that they are a small bit heavier and slighly more cumbersome than a lighter asics training shoe , however as I said for rougher ,hillier roads - they give great support and grip. I suppose what I'm saying is that it's horses for courses !!!Price wise they are probably 20 quid more expensive than what I would normally spen/expect for a good running show but so far so good and worth every extra penny .Would definitely recommend.
