692011 Push Rod Replacement for Models 495136 and 692011

I used this to replace a broken aluminum push rod 692003. Same dimension, and the steel lasts longer. It is used by OE for the exhaust valve, but it works for the intake valve as well. Briggs & Stratton engine Model 31R707 Type 0034 G1 Code 150115ZA

There's no substitution for quality especially when it comes to the after market supply for our small engine needs, one must always steer clear of the fly by night China manufacturers making a mockery of the secondary parts market. THIS is why you should ALWAYS BUY OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) parts like these. For example, this purchase also included another needed part and I neglected to read the fine print which resulted in me getting an inferior part from another seller that I now have to reorder and send back the inferior part. Don't be me! Only Buy OEM! Learn from my mistakes both past and current. Only Buy OEM! Yes, I know I'm repeating myself. It's THAT important. Zip~ p.s. For those needing the vale settings they are .004 for the intake clearance and .006 for the Exhaust. Double Check your clearances after you've rolled the engine over a few times to make sure everything is secure and properly adjusted.

This product can easily be mistaken for another pushrod that is made of aluminum. Although Briggs and Stratton make pushrods out of both materials, most internet help boards note that its a cost factor for Brigs and Stratton, as they save .14 on every aluminum vs steel pushrod. I really don't know why they do this and nobody seems to know why either. It's just a pushrod, the most important thing is installing and adjusting it correctly.

I'm mowing my acre, dreaming of being on the beach,and am rudely interrupted by a clang! clang! clang! and the mower slowly comes to a halt and dies. I am not a mechanic(I'm a Plumber). The mower would turn with the starter but not turn over (Just a putt,putt,putt then dies again) After checking the plug for spark and the fuel line for flow, I figured taking the valve cover off couldn't hurt but I would not know what to look for once the cover is removed. Well, to my surprise the push-rod was obviously bent and almost broken off and sticking out like a sore thumb. Briggs and Stratton had the part in stock and had the best price. The rods were quickly mailed. I removed the old rod and installed the new one. I had to adjust the rocker arm per my owners manual. I replaced the valve cover, checked the oil level and fired it up. I have not had a lawnmower engine problem since.(fingers crossed) Amazon and Briggs both come highly recommended.
