Laura's Dark Side: A Wife Sharing Romance

Hot read Lots of suspense building up to when she takes the plunge, wanted it to occur a little faster than it did. Could have been cool if he actually caught her and was able to secretly watched once before she let him watch which you know is coming. Possibly following her to a bar watching a BBC practically undress her in the bar that would have been interesting which is kind of hinted at but didn't happen. Good read could use a follow up to there now chosen path.

Well written. Really does a good job of exploring the emotional ups and downs of the husband. I enjoy these stories much more than those of the degrading sissy cuckold

The writing was excellent, the plot, not so much. I believe the word du jour is derivative. This storyline has been done to death. It seems erotica is just as susceptible to the seven basic storylines as every other genre. Point of view is really all that makes a tale interesting and unfortunately, in this story, the attempts at intrigue were dismally predictable. Still, it was a good escape from the rigors of the day.

Arnica Butler defined reparations with this lengthy story of sexual greed and intimate inadequacy. This cuckolding lifestyle is the wanderers bitch. The music has to stop even for the most profoundly eager marriages. Chris and Laura won't be getting any take backs and the justification of these painful means is that in the end I'm convinced they both got what they wanted and deserved. Im not throwing stones in a world made of glass. The fragility of marriages in today's less restrictive times finds structure and rules eaaier to find. Arnica does a great job painting her picture and developing her characters. It's the reader who takes the chance. This one scores well in that the protagonist, the cuckold is the hero. Allbeit, the last to come to the table, when he arrives, he finds his wife has already been fed. The confidence of her lover made waiting worth it's weight. Masculinity seems to be the secret ingredient and yet set aside he met his wife for the first time. Should he hate himself or thank the man who found her? In my opinion, it doesn't matter. For Chris, he let his wife show him his place and he was to be happy he was late. This fantasy is so hard to accept, Arnica confirms it by making it real. I would love to think this could be successful but making mistakes this irreversable are for authors and to me that's the greatest appeal.

The build-up is good, and I enjoyed the fact that the wife (instead of the husband) is the character struggling more with the dilemma of diving into the world of hotwifing, but the climax (pun intended)comes about too quickly and leaves the reader wanting more. The ending feels rushed.

When all is said and done, Jenna convinces Laura to take a pit stop, with Chris giving Laura the green light to fill up the tank, take the wheel and explore her own marital fast lane on the Hotwife Speedway. Chris is thrilled to be in the stands, with a front row seat at the finish line. PLEASE write the sequel, Arnica. Let’s see how dark Laura can get when she and Chris give Tony the keys . .

A delightful story about a couple who explores their secret sexual fantasies. The conflict between what is socially acceptable and what they want is revealed in a delightful way. The vast gap between logic and lust makes this a senuous read.

First off I would like to say I like Arnica as a author and have a lot of her books. Some I like, some I am indeffereynt to and some are hot as hell! She has a knack of drawing the reader into her stories with just enough details to peak his imagination enough to fell in blanks to suit himself. Her sex scenes definitely stir you up! But sex without a believable storyline can be as uninspiring as a storyline without the expected sex. I didn't like the incessant mind games in this story, why go on and on describing an emotional self debate when a sentence or two was more than sufficient. I also didn't get the wife's sudden change and never got the vibe there was any jelious worry on the husband's part. The thrill is the risk of something happening you hadn't expected of loosing something you hadn't expected to loose but they lived through it. The old adage, you don't know what you have until you loose it is so true. Sorry for the rambling review. This is in no way a critism of the author just this story.

Laura and Chris are a fairly typical couple. Successful careers but after two kids and 12 yrs of marriage, they’ve lost their connection and a way forward for their marriage. On a first date night in a long time, it’s all going wrong until they see the wife of close friends (Jenna) on an apparent “date” of her own. That’s the flake that starts the snowball rolling for their marriage. This story was riveting from start to finish. As the story progresses, the couple begins to communicated more and, although they weren’t always on the same track, they always came back together. The story isn’t overly dependent on sex, but what there is is emotional and compelling. Fortunately, over the course of the book, they discover their two fantasy lives/kinks are complimentary. I’m a character development guy; I want to see couples like this grow personally and together. Their adventures certainly help to resurrect their sex life and assist their develop as individuals. Laura feels/carries herself as if she’s a too tall mouse; it’s wonderful to see her confidence soar. Rob has some hidden fantasies; over the course of the book, he’s able to embrace and enjoy them. Their friends Rob and Jenna have some sort of a Hotwife relationship. Jenna is definitely on the wild side, yet she’s an invaluable instigator in Laura’s development. How she advances Laura’s evolution is a study in leadership. Rob is a great sounding board and supporter of Chris while Chris navigates his uncharted waters. As the story approaches its crescendo, it’s Jenna that has the intelligence, insight, connections and interpersonal skills to orchestrate the finale. I wouldn’t call this a Hotwife/Cuck story. I’ve only recently become aware of Stag/Vixen relationships. I’m feeling this is more Stag/Vixen as Laura can be encouraged but not dominated and Chris doesn’t back down yet let’s things unfold. (I do admit I’m baffled when a woman or man administers a fantastic BJ, particularly from their knees, that it’s assumed they’re submissive - I simply conclude they like sex and are good at it.) To my mind the jury is still out on how this relationship unfolds. Only a sequel will answer for sure.

Laura and Chris have been married for twelve years. Their kids are finally old and responsible enough to spend a few hours home alone while mum and dad have a night out together. Midway through their date, they spot Jenna, a friend and co-worker of Laura's. Jenna is on the arm of a man who is most definitely not Rob, Jenna's husband who works with Chris. Jenna doesn't spot them, and it quickly becomes apparent to Laura and Chris that their friend is very intimately acquainted with her companion as their non-too-subtle displays of "affection" become increasingly explicit. The illicit nature of what they observe is a massive turn-on for Laura and Chris, who end up booking a room at a nearby hotel and having the best sex they've had in years. Afterwards, they are troubled about whether or not they should approach Jenna and/or tell Rob. This is the tale of a married couple realising their friends' marriage works very differently from their own and questioning their concepts of love and fidelity. Both partners tell the story as Laura comes to terms with desires she's never admitted to herself, and Chris imagines his wife putting herself "out there" as they witnessed their friend Jenna doing. The couple communicates like a real, loving couple. Hence, conflicts and misunderstandings happen, and Arnica Butler takes us through the angst and the excitement as the couple edge their way closer to redefining the rules of their relationship. This story has themes of infidelity and interracial relations. There are moments of anger and mistrust between Laura and Chris, but they are overcome as they each come to understand their partner better. The sex between the couple and other parties is sensational, and I'm pleased to say there is no meanness or humiliation directed at any character other than in their self-talk. In summary - a great read featuring a likeable couple with a strong relationship and plentiful steamy scenes. Very recommended to fans of the genre.

A really excellent book. It starts by building the characters, Laura and Chris who are very rounded and believable individuals. Then the story slowly unfolds, and it is excellent. What I found surprising about this book is how I could really “see” both main charachters. It made the later developments in the story much more powerful. My only quibble is that it felt about 100 pages too short and I doubt there will be a sequel given where the story ended but a very worthwhile read. Try to pace yourself and really savour it rather than succumb to the temptation to binge read it. It is worth taking your time.

There’s a long build up to this one but worth the wait. You know where’s it’s going to go but the ride is worth it. Great to get both points of view and in parts it was kt Morrison like in the way it pushed buttons. High praise. More like this please.

Story had nice balance between Laura's life style and the sex content. As always, book delivered on time and in fair condition for its' previous use. Thanks Awesome Books.
