Square D FSG2J24CP 40 To 60 PSI Water Pump Pressure Switch

I’m no plumber and was a bit nervous replacing this myself as there was no valve between the pipe coming in the house from the well and the switch. I cut power to the well pump and started to remove the old switch. Sure enough water started coming out. It was only the water that was in the pipe from the well, not much maybe a gallon tops. Clean up wasn’t a big deal. Once the switch was installed, I turned the power back on. The good thing was that I did not have to adjust the switch, in fact it was set up nicer than the original. Should you need to adjust the switch there are directions in the box and plenty of videos on line. I was hesitant to buy a switch at a lower price by an unfamiliar company. I have no complaints, this switch should last until the next homeowner has to replace it.

While this looks like a nice switch, it does not have an Auto/Start/Off switch. The photos only show the non-switch side, so you cannot tell it does not have a switch by looking at the photos. Also, the instructions say to use the switch when needed to manually start the pump running. The initial settings were 42/64. I had to adjust those down to 40/60. Easy to do. The description says it is made by Square D, but the box, switch and instruction nowhere say it is made by Square D. Pretty sloppy, so minus at least 2 stars. Nuts! I will likely send this switch back and get one that has the Auto/Start/Off switch.

Installed/ works great

It is quality Sq D. However, every well pump should stock a 'backup'.

Works as it should. Old original unit had sediment built up in the diaphragm causing low pressure and the pump to short cycle. Took about 15 min to replace. Pressure and range are adjustable. It's been 2wks, I'll update if I have a problem.
