I waited to review this until I had washed it and used it. The glass is heavy enough to help avoid chips from small bumps. I made a casserole in it , which did great. It was very easy to clean, as the casserole did not stick to the surface enough to make it hard to clean, and that was without spraying the inside before loading it with the casserole. Good quality glass, lovely enough to go from the oven to the table to serve. I haven't used it in the microwave yet, but it should do fine in the freezer, the microwave, as well as in the oven. Lid has bumps to keep it from sliding around, fits well.

It's glass. And it's big. It's nice to have something that is really big, has a transparent lid, is easy to get totally clean (with no seams), and is totally microwave-safe. It won't stain or get discolored. It won't warp. But it could break. Just take care to develop good habits. Always keep it over a counter or sink, not the floor. Don't subject it to too much extreme temperature, although it should be quite good in regard to that. Nothing truly lasts forever, but if you handle it right, you should be able to use it for a very, very long time.

Perfect size for a small casserole, etc. I use in the microwave but could easily go in the oven now that summer’s over.

I ordered this because I cook for one often, and as such, I often have leftovers to reheat in the toaster oven. I was using a lot of aluminum foil sheets as lids, and was worried about toxins in my food, especially if tomato sauce was involved. No longer an issue. This item is perfectly sized for one portion, is oven-proof for reheating, dishwasher safe, and can even go from fridge to oven, although they recommend against temperature shocks. I thought it might have been hard to lift the lid with oven mitts on, until I realized it is perfectly round where the lid meets the body. So you can rotate the lid 90 degrees, and the "wings" stick out perfectly for lifting. The European borosilicate glass is lab grade, and it feels really solid; the lid stays on well due to its weight alone. I'm very happy with my purchase, and will definitely buy it again so I can have one to use while the other waits to be washed.

I am trying to rid my kitchen of all things plastic, especially those which are used to heat foods. I happened on this item and thought it would be great for my can of Progresso soup which I have for lunch. Alas, it is too small, especially if the soup boils over. BUT, I will simply order a series of larger sizes because in all other ways this is a superior product. The glass is thick and durable (unlike the glass of a tea pot I ordered last year which was made in China and so thin and fragile that it cracked after 2 uses). This is substantial.. The lid is excellent and cool when removed. It washes easily and I have no problem both cooking in it and eating out of it.

Was perfect for thawing a serving of frozn rice in microwave. 2-3 minues and god as fresh. I'm very happy with this dish. I like the cover inverting on bowl for storage. One of my better purchases. No knob on the cover is great. Easier storage.

How can you beat good quality?

It is strong and perfect size for my bakes. A bit pricey but great product.

Very nice looking and practical casserole dish. I have purchased two of them and use them often.

The thickness of the glass is substantial & the size with steep walls is great for my use. Expensive but probably worth the extra money.
