Introducing The Nano - uncompromised quality of Mercier comes to a super compact yet ultra-versatile bicycle. This bike is unique it's almost custom. So unique and custom, it is not on the Mercier website - yet.

Yokota Fritz (famous cycling expert) says: "Minivelo" bicycles are bicycles with small, 20" wheels but with road or city / hybrid bike design influences rather than the BMX bike look. Though at a glance these compact bicycles look like they might be folders, they're not typically folding bicycles. Because the small size lends to easier storage, minivelo bikes are hugely popular in some Asian countries, Japan, Korea and Taiwan in particular. They have a following in Europe and the UK, also. These lightweight bicycles "feel" a lot like a normal bike. Unlike many comparably equipped folding bikes, they tend to be reasonably stiff and responsive. Many people carry minivelo bicycles onto light rail and train systems as part of a multimodal commute."

What does this compare to- Compare this bike to other Mini Velos like Soma, Gios or Masi mini velo bikes which sell for $900+ with similar specs.

It's not the lightest bike so if your looking for a super light weight I wouldn't recommend this bike. However it is still relatively light for some one like me coming off of mountain bikes. I would suggest like others the handle bar controls may need to be modified I have adapted but I would still like to change mine and living in the PNW I am getting different tires than what it came with for a bit more grip. It's a good base if you are comfortable making modifications. Either way the bike is great no to start and get yourself into biking for commuting or fitness. Another one of my children outgrew their juvenile bicycle, so they got a Nano. It’s a go-anywhere, roll over anything platform. Perfect for teenagers. This bike can go almost anywhere a bmx can go and has the right geometry to travel fair distances efficiently.Keep in mind, this is not a child’s bike. The rider needs to be at least 5’4” on the small frame to safely reach the brake levers.My complaints: The bike arrives with almost no lubrication. I had learned this in my research before I bought my first nano, so I was prepared to tear everything down and grease all the bearings properly. I have the proper tools to disassemble the bottom bracket, headset, and hubs, so that wasn’t an issue for me. People without tools might want to include the cost of a tune up at their LBS.The wheels are drilled for presta valves. Save yourself the headache of ordering 20” presta valve inner tubes (if you can even find them) and drill out the rims to fit schrader valves. Those are readily available at any big box store for cheap. While your in there, replace the rim tape on each wheel. The original tape is garbage. A spoke puncture is just a matter of time with it.The components are low end (excluding the front and rear derailleurs, which are decent), but the complete package is so much fun I don’t mind upgrading as needed.This is a great bike for those with a little bit of mechanical ability. I’d buy another one in a heartbeat.\n ","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"5.0","bestRating":5}}]},{"@type":"Product","name":"Mercier Aluminum Road Bike Galaxy SC1 Commuter Bike/Racer by Cycles","url":"/product/122029966","image":"","offers":{"@type":"Offer","price":63890,"priceCurrency":"CAD","availability":"https://schema.org/InStock","hasMerchantReturnPolicy":{"@type":"MerchantReturnPolicy","returnPolicyCountry":"ca","applicableCountry":["ca"],"returnPolicyCategory":"https://schema.org/MerchantReturnFiniteReturnWindow","merchantReturnDays":14,"returnMethod":"https://schema.org/ReturnByMail","returnFees":"https://schema.org/FreeReturn","refundType":"https://schema.org/StoreCreditRefund"}},"description":" \n \n \t\n \t\n \t\t\n \t\t\t

Its not a high-end hobby level bike, but it's also not a department store bike. Fits that nice niche in the middle between a bike that isn't really even worth $150 and bike shop bikes that start at $750+. Its a little heavier than the more expensive bikes (even those that are also aluminum/carbon), but mainly only noticeable when carrying up stairs. MUCH lighter than department store bikes though.Seat isn't awesome for sporty riding (but most people consider a seat swap standard for any bike).The adjustable stem is your standard issue one... lots of side to side play. Use it to figure out what height you want, then buy a non-adjustable. Though it would be fine for just cruising around the neighborhood.Use some anti-seize or something on the bottle cage bolts that you aren't using... I left them as is and they are seized into the frame. Probably get them out, but I'll probably scratch the frame doing it (that's after years on a covered patio).Assembly was easy.... but I also do all my own bike maintenance and have built them from almost scratch. The gears were actually nearly adjusted out of the bike... just set the limit screws. The wheels needed some straightening (one was passable, the other was not).(Edit: did break loose the frozen bottle cage bolts EASILY with a little high end wd40 like stuff, with only a small scratch on the frame from pliers holding the base)\n \n","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"5.0","bestRating":5}}]}]}}
